Nash to Seek Federal Nomination

FORMER MP PEGGY NASH TO SEEK FEDERAL NOMINATION IN PARDALE-HIGH PARK

TORONTO – Former MP Peggy Nash will seek the federal New Democrat nomination in Parkdale-High Park at an upcoming nomination meeting this Thursday in Toronto’s west end. Nash is uncontested in seeking the nomination.

“It would be a great honour to represent this riding once again,” says Nash. “Stephen Harper continues to sink our government to new lows and Ignatieff’s Liberals are not offering a convincing alternative, let alone a progressive one.”

Should Nash’s bid for the nomination succeed, she will seek to reclaim her former riding from current Liberal MP Gerard Kennedy.

“As MP for Parkdale-High Park, I fought the Harper agenda consistently, and scored a number of important victories. The people in my community are not getting this type of leadership anymore and that needs to change.”
